Mammoet Road Cargo reduces administration work by 50%
Mammoet Road Cargo (RC) is a transport company which offers professional solutions for exceptional transports, machine transports and project loads. With a new real-time portal, developed by CAPE Groep, they can reduce the amount of administrative work during projects by as much as 50%. The app is an easy-to-use web-based application, which requires few technical skills. The information flow between the head office and workforce is fully automated.
What did the organization want to achieve?
Mammoet RC wanted to make its processes as efficient and effective as possible and therefore started a project together with CAPE Groep to use ICT within the organization, for both the head office and the vehicles. According to Giel Koevoets (Managing Director of Mammoet RC), “The main goal was to register and process travel times”. Mammoet RC wanted a speedier and easier way to monitor current projects and reduce the enormous amount of paperwork.
“Thanks to the application of CAPE Groep, Mammoet RC can automatically complete the time registration of the the drivers”
How did we tackle this?
First of all, CarrierWeb onboard computers were installed in all trucks. As a result, navigation tools were provided to the drivers and the position of drivers, as well as a track function, was made available to the administrators at the head office. This saves a considerable amount of manual work for both parties. The organization uses Metacom as a back-office financial and administration system. This ERP was also linked by CAPE Groep to fully automate the flow of information. Thanks to the application of CAPE Groep in Mendix, Mammoet RC can automatically complete the processing of the drivers’ hours. Mammoet RC can now focus on the exceptions that are highlighted through the application built by CAPE Group.
What have we delivered?
The Onboard Computer Portal has automated the entire flow of information between the head office and the workforce. The application also automates the entire transaction cycle including order receipt, planning, execution and invoicing. All projects can be traced online at any time. This makes both the processes and the organization more effective. “The application provides us with a complete, real-time overview of all current projects, allowing us to zoom in on any random data point and enables us to adjust or to take action if required. We also have access to all reports including all the changes that have been applied and why these changes have been applied”, explains Giel Koevoets. A special algorithm has also been developed which splits work orders into various projects and carefully allocates all related project costs. This results in the elimination of seven hundred pages of reports per week, reducing administration work and increasing efficiency. The Portal has reduced the number of administrative man hours per week by 50%.
“With Mendix and eMagiz Mammoet RC can continue to automate processes”
What does the future hold?
Mammoet RC wants to innovate further in order to stay ahead of the competition. In combination with Mendix and eMagiz (the iPaaS of CAPE Groep) Mammoet RC wants to further automate its processes and provide transparent operational information to its customers. Internal processes will also be facilitated and automated to ensure employees can spend as much time as possible serving customers.
